Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou, the oldest of four children, was born on 8 August 1976 in Beaumont Puy-de-Domme. Audrey Tautou's parents who are a dental doctor and a school teacher, supported and encouraged her early love for drama as well as theatre. She initially hoped to become a master monkey was eclipsed by her wish to pursue a degree in theater and drama. Her meteoric rise as a young actress was rapid and accompanied by her early successes. After her graduation in 1998, she was a participant in an French television show that scouts talent Jeunes Premiers sponsored by Canal+ and won Best Young Actress at the Beziers Festival of Young Actors prior to launching acting professionally. Tautou was a member of the church as well as the Institut Catholique de Paris during her youth, however she now dissociates herself from these upbringings. Modeling and acting are interspersed. She became the face of L'Oreal Mont Blanc Chanel, and is known as The Chanel Muse. Photography is another hobby and she has recently displayed her work at the Arles festival under the name Superficial. Through her photography, she focuses primarily on celebrity and the spotlight. Cameras are focused at journalists, who sat and watched her during her rise to the heights of fame in Amelie. Audrey Tautou rose to fame and stardom with her major role in Le Fabuleux Destin in the film d'Amelie Pouulain. Amelie was a global success on the screen and was awarded awards across the globe. It's the most-grossing French film to be released in the United States. The popularity of the film brought Tautou into a wide range of roles, from British dramas such as Dirty Pretty Things by Stephen Knight and Jean Pierre Jeunet to Hollywood's The Da Vinci Code with Tom Hanks.
